Yes, I visited SBF at his parents' Palo Alto home
Addressing our in-person meeting on December 27, 2022.
Ok, this has all been overwhelming for me. I began posting about crypto pretty recently at the end of June 2022 after losing a substantial chunk of my savings to Celsius Network. Admittedly, things have escalated pretty quickly since then.
I’ve shared my story before, but I’m now in a unique but tricky position. SBF is willing to chat with me quite candidly; in fact, he’s made some damning admissions on our previous phone calls. His disclosure of “dark donations” to the Republican party led to an FEC complaint and one of his eight criminal charges from the DOJ (conspiracy to defraud the US by violating campaign finance laws), his assertions about the $400M+ “hack” were cited in congress, and he admitted to reopening withdrawals in the Bahamas without permission from securities regulators. In other words, my past interviews with SBF have landed him in some serious shit.
However, I’m well-aware that most people do not want to hear from Sam at all and assume every word out of his mouth is a lie. By sharing his commentary publicly, I bear the brunt of the criticism and am bombarded with accusations that I’m acting as his “mouthpiece,” or am helping him spin a narrative to sway the public perception in his favor. I understand the logic behind both arguments, so I’m conflicted. Recently, I spoke with SBF in-person at his parents’ Palo Alto home on Dec 27, 2022. I’ve been in a bit of a state of paralysis about whether or not to share bits from our conversation.
